We are seeking a Controller, preferably with experience in the healthcare field and/or in a not-for-profit organization. This position will report to and will be supported by the Chief Financial Officer. The Controller will manage the accounting department and be responsible for the month end general ledger close, production of monthly and quarterly financial statements for the CFO and organization department heads and supervise billing and AR, accounts payable and assist with cash management. This hands-on position will be responsible for maintaining financial information for outside auditors and prepare schedules for Medicare Cost Reports. You will streamline processes, ensure prompt and accurate monthly close. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and have experience working in a Continuing Care Retirement Community, Senior Living, Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Facility .

Required skills, education, and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in accounting, business or finance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting systems and ability to apply that knowledge to long-term care and the retirement industry.
• Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare-specific accounting and supervisory experience required.
• Have an understanding and experience with Medicare, Managed Care.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, multitasker with the ability to prioritize work accordingly and meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products. Experience with MatrixCare highly preferred.
